suzie's biography
My love of art started at a very young age, when I was presented with my first box of crayons and a few sheets of paper. One of my abiding childhood memories is spending many hours happily sketching away on the living room floor, usually accompanied by a few 1980's cartoons in the background for good measure.
I knew that pursuing all things creative was the path for me, and I studied Art and Design at West Suffolk College, before moving to the University of Hertfordshire in 2000 to begin a degree in Graphic design and Illustration.
During the following three years I developed a deep interest in creating artwork for children, choosing to write and illustrate a series of short stories as a final year project. I graduated in 2003 with a 2:1 BA Hons.
I work in a variety of media, including acrylic on canvas and collage, and create work ranging through traditional, childrens' illustration and abstract styles. I welcome commissions in all sizes, from personal pieces of art which can be held in the palm of a hand to house sized murals. I love a challenge!
I currently live and work in the lovely market town of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk
